Playwright Paula Vogel has taken a difficult subject and transformed it into a fascinating theater experience, with her Pulitzer Prize winning How I Learned to Drive.  The play infuses humor within the seriousness of the topic: the relationship that occurs over the course of years between a young Li'l Bit and her Uncle Peck.  Calling it a "coming of age play...a love story about good people who cross the lines and get confused," the playwright uses the metaphor of driving lessons to explore issues of coming-of-age and sexual tension that arise between a man and his niece.  The play is both wildly funny, and a devastating tale of survival, as a girl becomes a young woman learning the rules of the road and life from behind the wheel.

This play was performed on February 15, 16, 22, 23, & 24 2008
