This Pulitizer-Prize winning musical tale of ideals, politics, corruption, love, and New York brass takes us through the turbulent times of Fiorello La Guardia. Filled with beautiful ballads, peppy dance tunes, and even an hilariously skewed barbershop number, this is the story of the man before he became the legend. |

Fiorello! Book by Jerome Weidman and George AbbottMusic by Jerry Bock and Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick Stage Director: Frank RobertsMusic Director: Barry Singer Choreographer: Charley Borden Production Managers: Don Richardson and Richard Sullivan Fiorello! was only the third musical to win the coveted Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This multiple award winner, including the N.Y. Drama Critics Circle Award and Tony Award for Best Musical, was the first hit from the team which also gave us Fiddler on the Roof and She Loves Me. Fiorello! tells the story of the rise to power of New Yorks "Little Flower", Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. The story spans the years just prior to WWI through to the Roaring Twenties. In a time when the crooked political machine known as Tammany Hall was up to its ears in graft, vice and corruption, it took this small, honest man to break their stranglehold on New York City politics. With a classic book by Jerome Weidman and George Abbott and a tuneful and imaginative score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, Fiorello! is a melodic masterpiece whose take on love, politics and corruption in government is as timely today as when it was written. Fiorello! is a witty, sweet valentine to New York City, a courageous and gutsy mayor and all that is right about the way our government works.
