To Kill a Mockingbird,  the revised version by Christopher Sergel, based on the novel by Harper Lee voted the best novel of the 20^th Century by Library Journal, is set in the deep South during the Great Depression. Reflecting the injustice of the infamous 'Scottsboro Boys' trial, To Kill a Mockingbird, remains relevant for our times in its depiction of how people's inherent goodness can be compromised by prejudice and fear. The Town of Arlington has chosen the novel for its "Community Read" program and the school system has assigned it as 10^th grade summer reading. We are pleased and proud to open the 2007-2008 season with this production, directed by Bob Eiland and produced by Susan Harrington.
