Enter Laughing by Joseph Stein is a warm, funny valentine depicting Carl Reiner's introduction to the world of live theater. Set in The Bronx in the late 1930's, we see young David Kolowitz ashe answers a small newspaper ad promising a "shot" at acting in a "live theatrical production." Thus begins the journey of our naive romantic as he runs headlong into the crazy world of theater, embodied in a small, run down "two bit" theater ruled by a has-been megalomaniac and his "leading lady" daughter. Filled with wonderful characters, and just the right helping ofJewish humor, Enter Laughing is a pure ensemble piece that will be as much fun for the actor as for the audience.
