The Odd Couple
The setting is Oscar
Madison’s New York City apartment in the mid 1960’s.
Felix has just
broken up with his wife.
Despondent,
he goes to kill himself, but is saved by his friend Oscar.
With nowhere
else to go, Oscar urges Felix to move in with him,
at least for a
little while. The only problem is that Felix is a neat and
tidy
hypochondriac, while Oscar is slovenly and casual.
