Call for Directors, 2026-2027 Season
 

We are currently seeking Stage Directors for our 2026-2027 Season.

 

If you are interested, please fill out the application and send it to programming@afdtheatre.org with a current resume and a brief paragraph describing your concept for the show you are applying for. You may apply for more than one production. Please respond by January 26, 2026.

For the musicals, if there is already a music director and/or choreographer you plan to work with, please have them join you at the interview if possible. After the stage directors are chosen, we will then interview for Music Directors and Choreographers if needed.

Sign up for an interview. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday January 28, 2026, from 7 to 10pm and Saturday January 31, 2026, from 1 to 4pm at AFD Theater, 22 Academy St, Arlington, MA.

Reserve a 30-minute slot.

If you are unable to interview on January 28 or 31, please email programming@afdtheatre.org and we will make other arrangements.

AFD’s honoraria: Stage Directors: $1000, Choreographers: $600, Music Directors: $750. Music Directors also receive additional remuneration for 3 dress rehearsals and each performance at which they either conduct or play. Stage Managers receive an honorarium of $500.
